Journey Summaries: Refresh or Edit Your State of Play and Where Things Stand

Let Rae write your journey summaries, ask for a fresh version, or edit the details yourself, on both your side and your client's.

Written by Yvonne Thomas

Every journey tells a story, and Rae writes it for you in plain language. Now you can decide how that story is told. Ask Rae for a fresh version with one click, or step in and edit the details yourself, so both you and your client always see an update that sounds right.

What it is

Each journey has two summaries:

  • State of play: your summary, for your eyes only. It covers where the journey stands, what happened recently, what's next and any open to-dos still waiting on you.

  • Where things stand: your client's summary. It's written to your client and shows them the work you've done for them and what comes next.

Both summaries have two controls in the top-right corner: the pencil icon to edit and Refresh to have Rae write a new version.

Where to find it

  • State of play: open a journey, then select Details.

  • Where things stand: open a journey, select Client view, then the Home tab.

Step 1: Review the summary

Read through the summary Rae wrote. As long as you haven't edited it, Rae keeps it up to date as new work, showings, offers and milestones are added to the journey.

Tip: Before you invite a client or send an update, preview Where things stand so you know exactly what your client will read.

Step 2: Refresh for a new version

Want the same information worded a different way? Select Refresh. Rae rewrites the summary using the latest activity on the journey. Refresh as often as you like until the wording feels right.

Step 3: Edit specific details with the pencil

When you want to change a name, a date, a detail or the tone yourself:

  1. Select the pencil icon.

  2. Make your changes to the summary.

  3. Save your changes.

Your edited version is what you (for State of play) or your client (for Where things stand) will see.

Step 4: Know what changes once you edit

Once you edit a summary with the pencil, it becomes yours to keep current. Rae won't update or rewrite it on its own, even as new work, showings or offers come in. The summary stays exactly as you wrote it until you update it again.

  • To keep your own wording: select the pencil again whenever something changes, and update the summary yourself.

  • To hand it back to Rae: select Refresh. Rae writes a new summary from the latest activity on the journey and replaces your edited version, and it goes back to updating automatically (your edits will no longer be retrievable) .

Tip: Many agents edit a summary early on to set the tone, then select Refresh later so Rae can take over again as the journey picks up speed.

What your client sees

Your client sees Where things stand on their Home page, in the version you last saved or refreshed. They never see your State of play, and they can't tell whether Rae or you wrote the summary they're reading.

Tip: If you've edited Where things stand, check it after any big change, such as a new offer or a price change, so your client isn't reading an out-of-date update.

Accuracy and compliance

Your client reads Where things stand as an update from you, so keep it accurate and professional. Keep confidential information about other parties out of the summary, and follow your brokerage policy.
